I'm new to blogging, but I have thought about starting a blog for some time and eventually I did last month. One aspect I'd focused on while thinking about a blog was to maintain my own integrity as well as the integrity of the blog itself. I think this becomes a necessary attribute for staying credible and viable over the long run. Even in the short time I've been doing this, I can see where the temptation to build a quick audience or make more money might lead to doing things that undermine integrity. I think your right in suggesting that the blogging community should work to police itself to prevent everyone in it from becoming tainted by the unsavory tactices of a few.
